My name is José Tomás Cartajena Calderón, I'm 19 years old, I was born in a hospital in Vitacura, Santiago in 1999. In my childhood my grandmother used to take care of me because my parents were both working outside the house, then my parents could take charge of me.

I live with my dad which work's in the house, my mom wich work's outside the house, and my sister wich goes to class every Monday, Thursday and Friday, all of the members of my family are born and raised in Maipú, and we are very close to each other.

I studied in a school called San Valentin in Maipu, it wasn't a great school at all, but I used to have great grades there. After school, I went to university Federico Santa Maria to study engineering but after 1 year  I decided to quit to follow my dream of being a veterinary, so I postulate/apply to enter Universidad de Chile and here I'm doing what I like, but really stressed because of all of the different courses that I have now.

My hobbies have been changing since I was 10 years old, I have played tennis, soccer, and hockey, but hockey was the most funnier and important by far because I represented the school in different championships and it help me to get a healthier body. When I was 16 I quit hockey because I had no time, but this year I entered the near gym to get that healthy body again. Also, I ride my motorcycle that my parents and I bought to move everywhere I need and I have been trying to learn stunts with it.

    Hi José Tomás, it is good to know a little bit more about your classmates... I´m so happy that you are in what you like..and it is so cool that you play hockey, maybe one day you can teach me some moves of that

Why did I choose medicine veterinary?

When I was young I didn't consider this career as the main career that I wanted, in the school I was good at Maths and Pshicys, so my first options always were engineering and something related to that. That´s why I applied for engineering in the USM in 2018 but I realized that it wasn´t for me. Before that when I was 14-15 I had my first dog, it was called Violeta and it was a female, I had it for 2-3 years but she got sick and the veterinarian didn't do that much for her, there was a lot of options but I felt like the veterinarian just wanted to take our money and didn´t care about Violeta, so she passed away. Since then I started to love animals more and more but most important admire them because they are incredible and can do a lot of things that we can´t. That´s the main reason I applied in 2019 to this career and why I want to become a veterinarian because I´m a fan of animals,  I want to help them and also because I want to learn all the extraordinary things they can ...

My Favourite Gadget

Hi! Today I'm going to talk about my favourite gadget. I must say that my favourite gadget has to be my cellphone because I use it to talk with my family when I'm far from them, play videogames, watch videos on YouTube, social media like instagram, and facebook sometimes, etc. It has a lot of different functions! I got my cellphone 2-3 years ago. I got it because the cellphone that I had before got robbed, so I had to get a new one, fortunately my mom could get me this cellphone for a really good price, it is the Iphone 6. I use my cellphone almost all day, when I'm in class, studying, walking in the university, in my house. I think is really hard to not use it  when you are used to, I think a cellphone makes everything easy in life and it would be really difficult to live without it, because all of the things that the cellphone have are really difficult to get if you don't have it, but I also think we could look more at each other if this thing called cellphon...
